The first step to getting started with CodaServer is to download the application. There are two separate downloads: The Server and the Client used to connect to it and do development work.
- CodaServer (latest version)
- CodaClient (latest version)
CodaServer requires a Java 1.5 or higher Runtime Environment (JRE) to execute. This can be obtained from Sun by going to Java.com.
As of this writing, it also requires a MySQL database server to be installed. This server doesn't necessarily need to be on the same machine, but it is very helpful if you have administrator (root) privileges on the database server.
Got all that? Okay! Let's proceed.
